Welcome to RedCentreRock.info

Red Centre Rock has been created as a free resource for anyone thinking of venturing into the Red Centre, with climbing on thier minds. Hopefully this site will show you that indeed there is good climbing in Central Australia, and that it is not just a vast flat desert as commonly imagined.

The whole MacDonnell Range has some fantastic crags, often in beautiful and unique locations, and while little of the climbing is world class, it's a fun place to climb, with constant good weather. If you are climbing in the summer, then there is often a crag in the shade, with a cooling waterhole on the way home.

Many areas described within are culturaly significant to the local Aboriginal people. Please read the access notes for each crag you intend to visit, and respect the wishes of land managers, the local Aboriginals, and local climbers.

NOW AVAILABLE: 'Rock Climbing in Central Australia', a published guide book to Central Australia, the first in many years, this 160 page A5 book has been written and updated over the last four years by local climbers and is packed with local knowledge and information, listing over 450 climbs, including new climbs which have not appeared in this online guide. Note: This guidebook is not associated with this website. Copies are available through all good outdoor adventure retail stores, or you can contact Krish Seewaj via email kermit@octa4.net.au or by phone on 08 8952 6065.
